The full title of this painting is Woman with Parasol – Madame Monet and Her Son, also known as The Stroll, is probably one Monet’s most famous works. Painted in 1875, this piece depicts Monet’s wife Camille and their eldest son Jean, aged about 6 at the time. Camille was Monet favoured model and muse, painting over 30 works with her as his model. This painting shows Monet skill as a figure painter. The piece captures a fleeting moment in time almost as if it were a photograph.
