This framed fern print is part of a collection of 19th century fern illustrations from “The British Ferns” by Botanist William Jackson Hooker (1785 – 1865) and illustrated by W.H. Fitch (1817 – 1892), published in 1861. Our in-house design team have kept the traditional composition of the original illustrations while adding a soft cream background to set off the delicate greens of the artwork.

Framing Description
Each artwork is beautifully framed in a hand-crafted oak frame. Glazed with gallery grade Perspex and ready to hang on the wall.

John James Audubon (1785 – 1851) was and ornithologist and painter well known for his book Birds of America. The images he created are meticulously detailed are considered to be an archetype of wildlife illustration.
